Lily P.K. Yip passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Monday, October 17, 2022.
Lily will be lovingly remembered by her husband Winston, of 21 years, and her two daughters, Caitlyn and Hayley. Lily is survived by her mother Yu Lun Or, sister Lena Or (Frank Tom), brother Allen Or, mother-in-law Si Hing Yip, sister-in-law Jeannie Yip (Andrew Jang), and predeceased by her father Wing Or. She will also be lovingly remembered by many relatives and friends.
Lily was born in Hong Kong and raised in Winnipeg. She completed her education at J.H. Bruns High School and University of Manitoba. After the completion of her education, she worked at Enterprise Rent-A-Car where she met her soulmate, Winston. Following Enterprise, for the past 15 years, she continued her professional career at Piston Ring Service.
Lily was a very proud mother and a dedicated supporter of Caitlyn’s and Hayley’s endeavors in Gymnastics at Springers (and Winnipeg Gymnastics Centre). In her other available time, she enjoyed travelling with her family and relatives.
Lily was a wonderful role model for everyone in her family and at work. She will be sadly missed, and our memories of her will live on and never be forgotten … we will carry on her legacy One Day at a Time…
Lily’s family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Dr. Goldenberg and the MB CancerCare staff as well as St. Boniface Palliative Care for their extraordinary kindness and support.
As per Lily’s wishes, cremation has taken place with a private family interment. A celebration of her life will follow at a later time.
