Obituary of Lilliebelle Forshee
Forshee: Lilliebelle (McIntyre), known to so many as Lillie, passed away peacefully at Brantford General Hospital on July 26, 2022 in her 89th year.
Lillie was raised on the family farm near Wardsville. After her marriage to Gerry, they raised their children primarily in Petrolia, then Wyoming. When Gerry retired, they enjoyed travelling the province to auctions and estate sales. After their move to a retirement home, Lillie became an active resident at Chatham Retirement Residence. During the decade she lived there, her humour, compassion and positive spirit resulted in Lillie being awarded the Young at Heart Award. She was regularly recognized for her volunteer participation on the Resident Council, Food Committee, various fundraising campaigns, resident programs and especially for her magical hugs. Lillie moved to Brantford in 2013, and since her stroke in 2016, lived at Riverview Terrace.
She will be deeply missed by her children Gloria (Vern) Furtney of Fonthill, Ontario and Bryan Forshee of Vancouver, BC. Predeceased by her loving husband of almost 52 years Gerald (Gerry) in 2004, her parents John & Lillie Belle (Bloom) McIntyre of Wardsville, her brothers Bert (Doris) & Elgin (Florence) McIntyre and her sister Violet (John) Balmer. She leaves several nieces and nephews to mourn her passing. Lilliebelle will be forever loved and held dear by her family and friends. Cremation and arrangements in the care of Badder Funeral Home & Reception Centre, Dresden. A Private Interment Ceremony for immediate family will be held at Dresden Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to express sympathy in the form of donations are asked to consider the Brant Community Healthcare System Foundation (BCHS) www.bchsysfoundation.org or the Canadian Cancer Society. Miss Me but Let Me Go
When I come to the end of the road
And the sun has set for me,
I want no rites in a gloom-filled room.
Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little – but not loo long
And not with your head bowed low.
Remember the love that we once shared.
Miss me – but let me go.
For this is a journey we all must take
And each must go alone.
It’s all part of God’s Great Plan,
A step on the road to home.
When you are lonely and sick at heart,
Go to the friends we know
And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds,
Miss me – but let me go.
