Leonard Dean Fanjoy 1944 2022

The family of Leonard Dean Fanjoy sadly announce that he passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2022, at Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton, New Brunswick. Leonard enjoyed life and the good times spent with family and friends so he would prefer that you would remember these good times when you think of him. He has gone ahead to be with the Lord and he will see you again.
Leonard is survived by his wife Janice Wiggins Fanjoy; daughter, Dr. Tawnya Fanjoy; son-in-law, Ross Britton, and step-granddaughter Gabrielle Britton. Leonard is also survived by his aunt Betty Steeves; brothers, Dennis Fanjoy, Ronald Fanjoy, Charles Fanjoy (Juanita); sister, Joan Fanjoy, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents Alden and Marietta Fanjoy; his uncle Ralph, and aunt Edith Fanjoy. Leonard is also predeceased by his brothers, Lorenzo Wadlin, Cecil Fanjoy, Robert Fanjoy, and nephew Kevin Fanjoy.
Although Leonard enjoyed fly fishing and ice fishing, he was just as happy taking care of his family’s two cats, Salem and Savannah, whenever the family was a way for a few days. Two cats beside him, a coffee cup in one hand and a T.V. remote in the other hand plus a T.V. marathon of Highway Thru Hell and Ice Road Truckers, and Leonard was a happy kitty-sitter.
Leonard spent most of his adult life behind the steering wheel of a truck or some other piece of heavy equipment. He retired in 2017 at the age of 73, after 27 years working at D. Hatfield Inc., in Saint John, New Brunswick. He also worked for many years at Frobisher Industries in Waterborough, New Brunswick, and for several years as manager/bartender at Grand-Washademoak Legion in Waterborough, New Brunswick. He was very happy at all three jobs and enjoyed the friendships that he made along the way.
Leonard was a member of the First Cambridge Baptist Church and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion.
His family wishes to thank Dr. Haines, the nursing staff, and other staff members at Mill Cove Nursing Home for their care of and kindness to Leonard over the past two years. Sincere thanks also to the doctors and nurses at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton for the kindness and compassion shown to Leonard and his family. May God bless you for trying so hard to pinpoint the source of his problem.
In accordance with Leonard’s wishes there will be no visitation and no funeral service. A private interment will take place at a later date. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choosing.
John 5:24 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears my word and believes in Him who sent me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgement, but has passed from death into life.”
