Leonard William Jones was born in Toronto on March 27th, 1957 to mother Ethel Jean Jones and father Charles Bernard Jones. Leonard is predeceased by his father and recently his sister Karen Jones.
With a love for cars and an amazing problem-solving mind for mechanics, Leonard began tinkering with engines and got into a life of mechanics at the young age of 16. He followed his father’s footsteps working for CP Rail at 17, eventually working his way to becoming a heavy-duty diesel mechanic and planning the movement of trains in and out of the rail yard.
At the age of 20, Leonard married his high school sweetheart and loving wife Margaret Ann Jones. Then 10 years later he welcomed his daughter Jessica Ashley Jones. For 13 years Len has been battling liver disease and was able to live at home with assistance and care from his loving wife, best friend, and care giver Reymound Fransico.
On the Morning of October 29, 2022, his battle was finally over. At Leonard’s request a small memorial will be held at a later date.
The family asks in lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Canadian Liver Foundation, Suite 309, 1010-1 Avenue N.E. Calgary, Alberta T2E 7W7.
