Lauretta MacPherson (nee MacDonald) joined her beloved husband Miller in the early morning hours of November 2, 2022, at the age of 82.
Lauretta was born in Inverness on August 21, 1940, the sixth child of Dan and Mary(Chisholm) MacDonald .
The family moved to Plymouth when she was a young child, and that is where she spent her childhood. Lauretta attended school at Plymouth, Stellarton, and East Pictou.
Lauretta was the matriarch of her family, and she embodied the true meaning of the word “lady”. She will be fondly remembered for her undying love of family, including her black lab, Frankie, who was ever by her side.
She is survived by her three children Kevin, Cheryl (Steven), and Miller (Jessie); three grandchildren Chelsey, Ryan, and Brittany; two great grandchildren Ivor and Talia; and siblings Donnie, Bill, Gerald, Ronnie, Dottie, and Delinah.
She was predeceased by her brothers Jimmy and Malcolm and her sisters Florence and Betty.
Her remains will rest at the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow for visiting from 2-4pm and 6-8pm Friday.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held 11am Saturday from Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Stellarton with Father Macdonald Ibeh presiding.
Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.
