Ky Vay Su, left this earth on December 25, 2022 after a two-and-a-half-year battle with
metastatic colon cancer. Ky was predeceased by his beloved mother Muoi Su. Ky
leaves his devoted wife Ngo My and his beloved children Helen, Mary and Alex. Ky is
survived by his father Dau, sisters Ahn, Kim, Cham and Nam and his brother Luc.
Family was always Ky’s focus. When Ky was 14 years of age, he went to work in Hong
Kong with his father to support the family while they waited in a refugee camp before
coming to Canada. Ky was always known for his loyalty and dedication to the wellbeing
of his friends and family. He was passionate about “fixing things” and would take up a
hobby as a “handyman” for family, friends, and other members of the community. He
was a Chemistry Analyst for Environment Canada for more than 20 years and it was
clear he enjoyed his work. His favourite sport was ping pong and you would often find
him playing with his colleagues after work. Ky was known to be a silly and joyful man
who brought a quiet happiness to those around him. He will live forever in the hearts
and minds of those who had the pleasure to meet Ky.
Please join us in remembering Ky on Saturday, December 31, 2022, at St. John’s Dixie
Cemetery and Crematorium from 10am-12pm. You are also welcome to pay your
condolences and to celebrate his legacy by donating to Trillium Health Partners where
Ky received his cancer treatment and spent his last days.
The family offers a heartfelt thank you to those who provided emotional and practical
support during this difficult time.
