Kevin Joseph Bourgeois, 58, of Denoon St, Pictou passed away in the Palliative Care Unit of the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow after suffering a stroke with his brother David by his side. Born May 11, 1964 he was the son of the late Joseph Wilfred ‘Bunny’ and Mildred ‘Toots’ Bourgeois, Pictou. Kevin was born, raised and lived his life his way. He was a very talented man who could turn his hand at anything he wanted to do. He was a fish buyer at the Toney River and Caribou wharves for his good friend Hair Bear (Barry Buchanan). In the winter he plowed snow with his side kick Hoochie (Steven Richards). Kevin was always available to lend a hand to whoever he could. He was a proud past member of Pictou Fire Dept. and spent his earlier years as a rink rat at Hector Arena where he made lasting friendships. He leaves to mourn his loss sister, Kathy (Lee), Dartmouth; David (Cathy), Pictou; Mike (Diane), Dartmouth and nieces, Samantha, Heather and Biancia as well as nephews, Jon and Kyle. Also mourning his loss is chosen family, Vincent and Joan Heighton; daughter, Patty, Lyons Brook and good friend Crunchberry (Wade MacPhail), Lyons Brook. As per Kevin’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. Kevin will be with us each lobster season smiling down on all fishers. Rest easy Bushy, you will be missed. Donations in Kevin’s memory may be made to the Pictou SPCA.
