June’s Obituary
The passing of the artist, June (Saulnier) Deveau, of St. Alphonse occurred on Saturday, December 3rd, 2022, 7:30 am, peacefully in her home.
Born on June 18th, 1952, in Dartmouth, NS, she grew up in the loving home of her foster parents, the late Bernadette and Albert Romain, in Meteghan, along with her foster sister, the late Marion (Robicheau) Theriault.
Surviving are her husband of 40 years, Jim Deveau, St. Alphonse; son, Joel, Meteghan; daughter, Joline, Dartmouth; brother, Roland Muise (Robin), Dartmouth; sister, Rose Thibodeau, St. Bernard. Her extended family, Linda (Comeau) Taylor, Paradise; June (Comeau) Dorey, Middleton; Leo Comeau (Sandy), Nictaux; Lena (Jim) Warren, Moncton; Bernadette (John) Ouelette, Moncton; Albert (Mary Ellen), Thunder Bay; Joeanne (the late Jerry) Dyck, Manitoba; and the late Josephine Comeau, Middleton, were like her brothers and sisters whom she loved very much.
She was predeceased by her foster sister, Marion Theriault; and brother, Normand Doucet.
June cherished her family and friends. Many friendships were made while she worked as a hairstylist and throughout her art journey. She and her husband, Jim, greeted many visitors at her art gallery studio in St. Alphonse.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Meteghan Funeral Home where visitations will be Thursday, December 8, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A funeral mass will be held Friday, December 9th, at 11 a.m., in St. Alphonse Church, Rev. Hospice Akoffodji officiating. Interment in parish cemetery, followed by a lunch and celebration honouring June in St. Alphonse Hall.
