Joshua’s Obituary
It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Joshua James Payne, of Isle aux Morts, announce his peaceful passing on October 18th, 2022 at the age of 74 years with his loving family by his side after a lengthy but courageous battle with amyloidosis.
Joshua was born and raised in Isle aux Morts where he truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures like hunting and fishing. He was never known to shy away from sharing his opinions and he had an uncanny ability to teach by way of example. He was a hard worker who was very devoted to his family and always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He will be truly missed by so many.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his loving wife and best friend; Ada of 54 years, his two daughters; Dena (Stephen) Clarke and Trinda (Diego) Gonzalez both of Ottawa, ON, his 4 grandchildren who were his pride and joy; Andrew, Avery, Ella, and Mateo. Also leaving to mourn is his sister; Madeline (Enos) Meade of Isle aux Morts, sister in-law; Doris (Howard) Brown of Mount Pearl and brother in-law; Wilson (Norma) Billard of Isle aux Morts, as well as a large circle of cousins, nieces, and nephews and special buddy Gilbert Hansford.
Joshua was predeceased by his parents; Bernard and Violet Payne (nee Lovell), his three sons; Andy, Tyson, and Trent, sisters; Bernice, Florence, and Harriett, brother; Victor, mother and father in-law; Myrtle and Harold Rose, sister in-law; Pearl Rose and brothers in-law; John Rose and Clarence Billard.
In keeping with Joshua’s wishes cremation has taken place. Visitation will be at Holy Spirit Anglican Church in Isle aux Morts on Saturday, October 22nd from 7-9 pm and Sunday, October 23rd from 2-4 pm. The celebration of life will be held at Holy Spirit Anglican Church on Monday, October 24th at 2 pm officiated by Bishop John Organ. Interment to follow at Hillside Haven Cemetery.
