Obituary
With heavy hearts, the family of John Warford announces his passing, which occurred at Ridgewood Veterans Wing on Wednesday, December 21st, 2022. Born in St. John’s, NL on August 10th, 1940, John was a son of the late George and Mary (Johnson) Warford, and the loving husband of Doreen (Arsenault) Warford. John was a proud veteran who served for 21 years in the Canadian Army Service Corps, including a 9 year stint in Germany. Following his service, he worked for Transport Canada as the manager of airports across the Maritimes and Newfoundland. Along with his wife Doreen, John is survived by his daughter Colleen Beaton (Bruce) of California, brothers David (Irene) of Keswick, Ontario and Bill (Linda) of PEI, sister Mary (Cyril) Warford of Newfoundland, as well as grandchildren Riley Buchanan (Pamela) and Brady Beaton. In addition to his parents, John was pre-deceased by his brothers Cecil and George, as well as his sisters Betty Aspell and Rita Warford. Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424). In keeping with John’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service. For those who wish, remembrances to the Alzheimer Society of Canada would be appreciated by the family.
