The family announces with sorrow the passing of John David LeRoy at the age of 79, at the North Bay Regional Health Centre with his family by his side. Loving father of Chantal (Paul). Dear brother of Gloria, Rodney (Corrie), Marvin (Angela), Corrine (Mike), and Vern (Norma)
Predeceased by his wife Claudette (nee Bastien) in 2018, and his parents Oran & Claudine (nee Donovan) LeRoy.
John will be dearly missed by many nieces and nephews as well as his many co-workers throughout the years.
He will be dearly missed by his great friends Mark Fryer and Guy Fortier, the Lavigne Coffee Boys, the Lavigne Tavern Crew, as well as by the Lodge Brethren from the Sturgeon Falls Masonic Lodge # 447
John was an ironworker for local 786. He travelled across many parts of Northern Ontario including Sudbury, Timmins and Sault Ste. Marie. He developed a past-time for woodworking and birdwatching. He was also a big fan of the Toronto Blue Jays, Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Ottawa Senators. Life will not be the same without this great man who would drop what he’s doing to help out a friend or family member in need.
The family would like to thank the Dr.’s, Nurses and Staff at the North Bay Regional Health Centre for their care and compassion they provided John throughout his final days.
The family will be receiving visitors at the McGuinty Funeral Home – Sturgeon Falls (123 Railway Street)on Tuesday January 3, 2023, between the hours of 11 am and 2pm. A Masonic funeral service will be conducted at 12 noon on Tuesday January 3, 2022, and all are invited to attend. Interment will be private in the spring of 2023.
