Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joanne Elsie Garnett, which occurred at Rocmaura Nursing Home on Friday, December 23rd, 2022. Born 1938, in Saint John, NB, she is the daughter of the late Arthur Joseph and Elda Jane (Godwin) Garnett. Joanne worked at Oak Point Beach Campground for many years. She resided most of her life in Oak Point, Kings County and enjoyed her time spent in Florida. She was hard working, she loved animals and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Joanne is survived by her long-time dear friend Christine MacKenzie; cousin Bonnie Devenne (Gary Costello); special friend Heather Scovil (Brian); nephew Brian; as well as many cousins and friends. Along with her parents, Joanne was predeceased by her brother Jack and nephew Marc.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). A Memorial Service will take place in the Fundy chapel on Thursday, December 29th at 2 p.m. followed by an interment at Fernhill Cemetery. Masks would be appreciated by the family. Donations in memory of Joanne may be made to the SPCA-Animal Rescue, the Rocmaura Foundation or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
