Sawyers, James Henry “Jim”
Passed away at Shelburne Residence on Thursday, July 7, 2022 at the age of 78. Jim grew up at Mansfield, the eldest son of Harry and Anna Sawyers. He started working with his father at the Boyne Feed Mill in Mansfield at the age of 16 and continued on to take over the family business, Sawyers Feed Mill Ltd., Shelburne, which he enjoyed fully until his retirement in 2016. Jim married his beloved wife Marion Clarke on October 10, 1964 and they raised three children; Warren (Diane) Sawyers, Teresa (Sean) Steele and Christina (Ray Jenkins) Sawyers Jenkins. They were blessed with nine grandchildren; Krystal, Shawna, Jesse, Reece, Ty, Tori, Wade and Elsa and eight great-grandchildren. Jim is survived by his brothers Alex and Joel Sawyers.
Jim was passionate about the feed business and considered many customers as his friends. He also took great joy in his little brown truck and it was something he remembered to the end.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Shelburne Agricultural Centre, 377 William Street, Shelburne on Sunday, July 24, 2022 from 1-4 p.m. If desired, donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
