Obituary of Janet Gail Clyde
Clyde, Janet Gail, a resident of RR#1 Chatham, passed away peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at the age of 82. Born in Chatham, daughter of the late Harold and Eliza (Wilson) Shaw. Beloved wife of the late John N. Clyde (2009). Loving mother to Louise Prelaz (Jim) of Kent Bridge, Andrew Clyde (Lisa) of Louisville, David Clyde (Renee) of Belle River. Cherished grandmother to Eric Prelaz (Emma), Christina Prelaz (Carson), Trevor Ledingham (Jenny), Raelyn Jackson, Ella and Abbey Clyde. Predeceased by her sister Elsie O’Neill (Otto), and brother Ken Shaw (Dorothy). Forever remembered by her dear friend at the Village on the Thames, Yvonne Richie.
Janet was a member of the Lindsay Road United Church. She enjoyed playing cards with friends at the Fire Hall, watching and feeding the birds, baking her favourite recipes, but most importantly, Janet loved and cherished her time spent with family, friends, and her community.
The Clyde family will receive friends and relatives at the John C. Badder Funeral Home, 72 Victoria St., Thamesville on Tuesday from 1:00-3:00 & 6:00-8:00 p.m.. A Private Family Service will take place with Interment at Arnold Cemetery. Those wishing to leave an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Alzheimer’s Society of Chatham-Kent or Lindsay Road united Church.
