Obituary
After a sudden and very brief illness, it is incredibly hard for us to announce the passing of James Warren Henderson, at the Saint John Regional Hospital on August 30, 2022, with his loving family by his side. He was born in St. Martins, NB, on July 22, 1973, to his parents, James Sr. and the late Edith (Bragden) Henderson and was the fun and adoring spouse of 14 years to Roxanne Duplessis, the love of his life.
Jim loved working with his hands. For a bit of time, he worked as a fisherman, then as a carpenter, but his joy was working in the Metal Trades with Local 213 and for the last many years he was an Online Leak Repair Technician. Jim, Jimmy, L’il Jim or just L’il, was known for his sense of humor and sarcastic way he had about him. He was a fun-loving country boy who loved to go hunting and fishing, work on his own and others motorcycles, and spend countless hours in the garage, welcoming everyone from near and far if they wanted to come, to sit and enjoy a Coors Light and have a good chat with him. On Sundays, he and Roxanne liked to play darts and crib in the garage while listening to the Golden Oldies. He was just a wonderful human being. When you entered a room, if Jim was there, you were instantly drawn to him. He had a way about him that screamed rough around the edges, but that heart of gold was ever present. Jim loved to help people, especially his family. And his love of animals just went to show this genuine nature that he carried with him. Jim raised by hand Ducks and Chickens. He had 11 Ducks, 30 Chickens and 3 Roosters. Dave the Rooster and Quaker and Oats were his favorites, the Ducks, particularly loved Jim and he them. They helped him to get over the loss of his favorite dogs, Blaze (Da Babys) the Boston Terrier and Daisy (Daisy May) the English Mastiff a year ago. He was well respected at home in his community, both in St. Martins and Lower Greenwich; at work with the Irving Oil Refinery and with his latest employment at Lorneville Mechanical; and with everyone who met him over this short but incredible life that he lived. He was a genuine man who will always be fondly remembered and deeply missed.
In addition to his father, Jim Sr. and his loving wife, Roxanne, he is survived by his son, Darrian; his daughter, Ashley (Eric Richardson); his first granddaughter, Hayden Lee-Anne; his brother, Trinity (Stephanie) and his sister, Kerrie (Russell); along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and sister-in-law, Rena (Jeremy) and The Duplessis family and many friends. Along with his mother, he was predeceased by his infant niece, Hope as well as several aunts and uncles.
Jim’s family wish to take this moment to thank profusely the staff of 4BS and NICU for the absolutely incredible care that they provided to Jim during his very short stay there. They couldn’t have done enough to help him or Roxanne and his family through this incredibly hard time.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) where visitation will take place Friday, September 9, 2022, from 2-8pm. On Saturday, September 10, 2022, visitation will take place from the St. Martin’s United Church (24 Main St, St. Martins) from 10-2pm with a funeral service to immediately follow. A Celebration of Jim’s Life to be held after the funeral for all family and friends and acquaintances to attend, at the family homestead located at 120-122 Mosher Hill Road, St. Martins.
