Dad had many interests including reading as well as a life-long love of dancing and ‘Big Band’ music. He loved nature and exploring the outdoors, spending many happy weekends camping at Elk Island. Dad was deeply spiritual and committed to the people of Edmonton’s Indigenous community. He was frequently invited to community ceremonies and was honoured to have been bestowed the title of ‘White Bear’ or ‘Musqua’. Dad devoted the latter half of his life to working with and supporting those with addictions and dependencies as an Addictions Social Worker and Counselor in Edmonton. He was kind, generous, and loving and made a positive impact on many, many lives. After retiring at the age of 81 Dad remained active including daily trips to the gym and enjoying time with his family.
Thank you to the Staff of Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton for their care. At Dad’s request there will not be a funeral service or ceremony. Dad loved the natural beauty of British Columbia’s outdoors and that is where he will forever rest.
Dad was passionate about many causes. In lieu of flowers the family encourages donations to one of those causes; Edmonton’s Bissell Center at bissellcentre.org
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de James “Jim Gordon Miller 2022..
