Obituary
Jack passed away on September 23rd, with the same grace and dignity that marked his days. He slipped away surrounded by his family.
Jack is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, Betty and his children Rose, Liz and Martin. He will be greatly missed by his granddaughters Tina, Kimberly (Alex) and Jillian and his great-grandchildren Kayla, Avery and Mikaela and former daughter-in-law Shirley (Jeff), beloved cousins, nieces and nephews in Canada and overseas and many more members of his extended family and dear friends.
Jack was predeceased by his parents John and Mary Jane McNally, brothers Bobbie and Vincent, sisters Sheila and Una and his grandson Ian Sean.
Jack spent the last 50 years living in Penticton after he purchased Valley Ford which he owned until the mid 80’s. Born in Ireland, he moved the family to England, then Ontario and finally BC. He loved to golf, travel (with good friends Barb and Barry McKay), act as travel guide to visitors and was very active with The Knights of Columbus.
We would like to thank Dr. Marius Snyman for his exceptional care and for kindness towards dad. Our thanks also to the nurses, care aids and activity staff of Trinity Care Centre for the love, care and support they provided Jack. Dad loved music and we would especially like to thank Lisa who offered her gift of music weekly as well as members of the Naramata choir. We would also like to thank family friend Nancy Brennan for her unfailing support and friendship through Dad’s final days.
A funeral mass to celebrate dad’s life will be held at St Ann’s Catholic Church, Main Street Penticton, on Monday October 3rd at 11 am.
Dad was always involved in the community, especially through his work with The Christopher Housing Society. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you donate your time or money to the charity or organization of your choice.
