Ivy’s Obituary
Ivy May Gabert was born on November 20, 1944 in Vegreville AB, the middle child of 5 born to Guy B and Ethel May Withers. She attended a one room country school room. She graduated high school in Vegreville and went on to nursing school at archer memorial hospital.
On January 7, 1967 she was joined in marriage to Richard N Gabert. They were blessed with 53 years together. God blessed Ivy and Richard with three children; Andrew & Feena, Keith & Carla, and Barb & Char. They were also blessed with 4 grandchildren; Mathew, Katherine, Emma, and Grace.
Ivy started nursing in Lamont and later at Manning Hospital for over 30 years. She was active in the union, and after retiring remained connected to the hospital community by being active with the auxiliary. She loved her garden, knitting and crafts, and was always willing to share or teach.
On March 21, 2020, God called Ivy home to heaven at the age of 75.
A Memorial Service for the late Ivy & Richard Gabert will be held on Thursday July 21, 2022 from The Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Bruderheim, AB at 1:30pm with interment to follow at the Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery.
