Obituary
Hugh passed away peacefully at his home, with his loving family by his side, on Wednesday, September 7, 2022. Born on March 25, 1937 in Owen Sound, Hugh Everett Beckett of Owen Sound was in his 86th year. Dearly loved husband of Jondré Beckett (née Crampton) and the late Patricia Beckett (née Hood). Loving father of Shawn Beckett (Cathie), Jeff Beckett (Michelle) Ryan Gilbert (Nicki), Collene Byers (Scott), Brent Gilbert and Owen Beckett (Lisa). Proud grandfather of Brandon (Katelyn), Holden, Trewit, Tayten, Rylan, Neave, Elsie, Leise, Zoey, Blake, Kylie, Jaxx, Derek, Harley, Hunter, Mason, Kayla and great-grandfather of Austin, Blake, Matthea and Rosie. Hugh is survived by his sister-in-law, Eileen Beckett, his in-laws and his many nieces and nephews. He will be missed by his dearest friend Lloyd Thompson (MaryLou) and his extended family, Adrienne Jones and Michael Gilbert whom he considered family and was very close to. Predeceased by his parents, Grant and Maggie Beckett, his siblings, Kenneth Beckett, Wilmer Beckett (Mable) and Donald Beckett (Brenda).
A memorial service for Hugh Beckett will be held at the Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, Owen Sound, 519-376-7492 on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. A reception will immediately follow the service at the funeral home.
