Norm is survived by his wife, Marion; daughter, Linda; and brothers, Reg and Gerry.
Norm and Marion were married in North Hatley, Quebec in 1962 and they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in Qualicum Beach, BC.
In 1971, the family moved to Nova Scotia where Norm taught at Dalhousie University and worked for the Nova Scotia Department of Education. In 1975 he began teaching at Acadia University and remained there until he retired in 1995 and moved to the west coast.
Norm loved teaching and coaching and remained involved in sports throughout his life, recently golf and curling in his senior years. In both golf and curling he was an active committee member and contributed to the organization of these sports at the club level. Norm also served on the Board of the Qualicum Beach Memorial Golf Club.
In the Rotary year 2007-2008 he was elected District Governor of District 5020 which includes all Rotary clubs on Vancouver Island and Western Washington State. He was the Rotary District Trainer, and he enjoyed many years involved in Rotary service locally and internationally. He was a long-time member in the Rotary Club of Qualicum Beach and formerly of the Rotary Club of Wolfville, NS. He was also active within his church, St. Stephen’s United in Qualicum Beach.
Norm and Marion cherished their life together and enjoyed travel to many parts of the world. They were blessed to have a beautiful daughter, Linda, who has always brought them much joy each and every day.
