Herbert Peter Burton, 70, of Hammonds Plains, passed away suddenly at home from an unexpected heart attack on Monday, December 26, 2022. Even though his failing heart took him away from this world, his loving heart left a beacon of light for all who knew him.
Herby is survived by his beautiful wife, Madeleine; son, Dylan Peter Burton; granddaughter, Paislee Jane Marie Burton; sisters, Mary (Doug) Falconer and Colette Burton; and brothers, George (Debbie) Burton, William (Mei) Burton and Lloyd (Gail) Burton. He will be missed by his nieces and nephews, as well as other family members and friends.
Herby was predeceased by his parents, Allan and Kay Burton and brothers, Larry Burton and Edward Arthur Burton.
He was a proud father to his son, Dylan with whom he shared a passion for hockey. Herby was always Dylan’s #1 biggest fan, being at every game and practice to cheer him on. Until retirement, he was a self-employed painter. Herby loved music, writing songs and playing guitar. He also loved his little dog, Boo and was forever sneaking her treats.
As per Herby’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Sydney Memorial Chapel.
