Parker Wong, beloved father, grandfather, brother, friend and teacher, passed away suddenly at the age of 77.
A teacher for nearly 30 years at Stellarton High School, he continued his love of teaching through tutoring and organizing and judging science fairs.
An avid outdoorsman whose love of nature extended beyond sportsmanship to conservation and sharing his passion for fishing and hunting with others. Parker will be greatly missed and remembered for his kindness, compassion, sense of humour, patience and generous spirit.
Parker is survived by daughter Jaylyn Wong (David Smith), grandchildren Owen Smith-Wong and Noralyn Smith-Wong; son Murray (Christie Ellis Wong); siblings Stan, Tony (Margie), Bill (Cathy), Jeannie (Steve Newberg), Gee and sister-in-law Mary Jay.
He was predeceased by his parents Gordon and Dorothy, wife Marilyn Wong (Nee Jay), siblings Joyce Leung (Nee Wong), Helen Ko (Nee Wong), Richard and sisters-in-law Pauline and Doris and brother-in-law Brendon Jay.
The family will receive friends from 12- 2 pm on Friday, November 25 in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home Chapel with a memorial service to follow at 2 pm with Rev. Donna Tourneur officiating. Family burial will be in the Lorne Street Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Parker to the St. Mary’s River Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
