It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Guido Domenico. He will forever be missed by his devoted wife of 56 years, Palmira, children Caterina (Stephen Runstedler), Roberto (Simona), Lisa and Marco (Bianca) and his grandchildren Julia, Chloe, Matteo, Arabella and Christopher.
Guido is survived by his brothers, Salvatore and Tony, his sister Maria and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Rocco and Caterina (Loprevite), brothers Giuseppe and Santo, sister Rita and nephew Angelo.
Born in Palmi, Italy, Guido spent his childhood playing soccer and enjoying the beach. After relocating to Genova, Italy with his family, he joined the Navy where he spent two years traveling the Mediterranean on a ship named the Raimondo Montecuccoli. In 1966, he moved to Canada to marry Palmira after meeting her in Italy the previous year. They settled in Waterloo, Ontario where they raised their children. A man with a strong work ethic, Guido spent many years as owner and operator of City Cartage movers, closing the business and retiring in 2002. His greatest joy in life was being a Nonno and spending time with his family.
We are grateful for the staff at Riverbend Place for their care and compassion during Guido’s final years.
Guido’s family will receive family and friends at Lounsbury Funeral Home, 1766 Franklin Blvd., Cambridge on Friday, October 14th from 12:00pm – 2:00pm.
