Grace Patricia Bird March 27 1919 – June 5 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Grace Patricia Bird, 103 years of age, at the Gorge Road Hospital on June 5, 2022.
Grace was pre-deceased by her husband, Alexander William (November 14, 1978). She is survived by her three children: Pat (Bill) Lane, Janice (Gary) Peden and David (Cheri) Bird; four grandchildren: Brent (Jackie) Lane, Nadine (Wayne) Foster, Heather (Marvin) Kobelka and Bradley (Deanna) Peden; two great-grandchildren: Tyler and Justin Kobelka.
Grace was an active member of St. Martin’s-in-the-Field Church, where on October 24, 1941 she married Alex. She was involved with the Women’s Auxiliary and helped with many fundraising lunches and fall fairs. Mom also enjoyed five pin bowling for many years at Town and Country Lanes, making some long-lasting friendships.
Grace enjoyed a long and happy life. She was a devoted mom and granny. We have fond memories of Sunday drives, many camping trips to Parksville and family get-togethers. We will all miss her.
The family would like to give a very special thanks to the staff at the Gorge Road Hospital (Waterview) for all the wonderful and compassionate care she received.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
Condolences may be offered to the family below.
