Taylor, Gerald…Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Belleville General Hospital on Sunday August 21st, 2022 at the age of 95 and entered into his Heavenly home. Beloved husband of the late Isabelle Taylor (nee Fox) for over 64 years. Beloved father to Beth Stephens (Ed), Bryce Taylor, Debbie Forestell (Jim) and Elaine Russett (Tony). Dear Grandfather to Brian, Michael, David, Julie, Whitney, Victor, Jenna, Nicole, Mirisha, Taylor and Great Grandfather to Jackson, Hannah, Nyla, Alexa, Mozzie, Neal, Theodore, Elliot, Oliver Jack, Isaac, Haleigh, Amelia, Olivia, Nico, Mary and Arnold.
Predeceased by his siblings Harold and Frank Taylor and Margaret Hagerman.
Gerald was born on the homestead in Rawdon Township, October 24th, 1926. He was the son of the late Victor & Alice Taylor. He was married on October 1, 1955 to Isabelle and they shared an amazing journey of love, life and faith together. Gerald was a dedicated and active member of Burnbrae Presbyterian Church. He was an organist at Burnbrae for over 50 years and at Weaver Family Funeral Home for 35 years. His passion for music was endless, including playing the piano, organ, accordion and violin. He exemplified a life well lived with his commitment to church, family, music and working side by side with Isabelle on the family farm. Gerald was a pianist for The Trent Valley Ramblers and the Pete Battman Band. He would often be found after the dances stopping at the church to practice his music for Sunday service. Then home for chores and back for 9:30 church. After retirement they enjoyed spending time with their grandchildren and many years of camping with their trailer, dogs and travelling the world. Visitation will be held at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church Burnbrae, 2583 Burnbrae Rd., Campbellford on Sunday, September 11, 2022 from 12:00 to 1:30 pm, followed by a service at 1:30pm. Interment Burnbrae Cemetery following service. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the St. Andrews Presbyterian Church Burnbrae or Campbellford Memorial Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
