It is with broken hearts that the family of the late George T. Hillier of Grand Bank announces his passing. George passed away at the BPHCC in Burin on Saturday, November 26th, 2022, at the age of 91. Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are his wife of 73 years, Jessie; son, Rick Hillier (Lenora) of Clarenville; daughter, Cathy Bolt (Wayne) of Grand Bank; son in law, Norman Denty; sisters, Olive Price, Lovetta Ralph; sisters in law, Georgie Lee, Mary Cooper; 7 grandchildren, Mike Denty (Lori), Steve Denty, Roxanne Burden (Wade), Natasha Hillier, Corey Hillier (Natrisha), Justin Bolt (Victoria), Jessica Bolt (Adam); 9 great- grand children, Zara, Brittany, Kyle, Kailey, Kayla, Kaiden, Nathan, Shalynn, Shaneil; 2 great-great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Carter; plus a large circle of extended family and friends.
George was predeceased by daughter, Sharon Denty; great- grand daughter, Lauryn Bolt; parents, Ben and Ida Hillier; sisters, Cora Lapstra, Carrie Rogers, brothers in law, Lance Ralph, Eli Price, Ches Rogers, Mack Lapstra, Ben Lee, Llewlelyn Douglas (Frances) , Carl Cooper; parents in law, Jane and Richard Riggs.
The Hillier Family will be accepting visitors at Wiseman’s Funeral Home in Fortune, NL on Monday, November 28th, 2022 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Tuesday, November 29th, 2022 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Tuesday, November 29th, 2022 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Funeral Service will take place at Grand Bank Salvation Army on Wednesday, November 30th, 2022 at 11:00 am.
Interment to follow at Salvation Army Cemetery. In George’s memory donations may be made to Salvation Army Cemetery Fund, or flowers gratefully accepted.
