It’s with deepest sadness that the family of CLUNEY GEORGE COLLINS announces his passing on February 10, 2022, at James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander in his 77th year.
Predeceased by parents Joseph and Blossom Collins.
Beloved partner to Audrey Feltham (and predeceased wife Ada Collins). Loving father of Cassie, (Ken Anderson), Michelle, Sherry (Michael Didulka), Steven (Natasha Williams) and Keith.
Dear grandfather of Melinda, Kevin, Kaleb, Liam, Kayden, Cody, and Nicky. Great grandfather to Hailee and Keegan. Left to morn sister Edna, predeceased by sisters Gertrude, Lily and Vera and brothers Kenneth and Hayward. Beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews.
George worked hard all his life as a fisherman, providing for his family.
He served as chairmen of the fisherman’s committee and worked for many years as a volunteer and valued member of the town council and recreation. He was ‘Santa Claus’ for many school and Christmas events for the town of Dover.
He loved being in the woods, cutting firewood and moose hunting and partaking in his ‘boil ups’.
An avid dart player, him and his team won many tournaments.
An epitome of Bark is Bigger than his bite, yet a softy at heart. George was easy going and fun loving – always providing a friendly face and a sense of humour. His bright smile and the twinkle in his baby blues will be greatly missed.
Visitation to take place at Oram’s Funeral Home in Dover, NL on Monday, February 14th, 2022, from 1:30-5:30PM.
