It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Genevieve Walsh. Genevieve (Jenny) passed away peacefully with family at her side on December 4th, 2022 at the age of 84 years.
Reunited in heaven, she is predeceased by her husband Eugene, mother Essie Keating (nee Wickens), father Walter Keating, stepmother Isabelle Keating, brother Phillip Keating, and son Wayne.
She leaves to mourn, her children who will miss her dearly: Randy, Gary (Tanya), Robbie (Bonnie), Jeannie (Randy Ward), Corey (Yen); her grandchildren, who she loved and adored: Melissa, Daniel, Lauren, Lana, Ashley and Jonathan; her great grandchildren: Hudson, Hayden, John and Tyson; her sister Mary Keating and her brother David Keating (Leah); as well as her special friends who were always there for her, and her extended Walsh and Keating families.
Mom loved each of us with all her heart and was dedicated to her family. She loved helping others and proudly volunteered in her Church parish for over 30 years, never hesitating to give her time to support others; whether it was holding prayer services for grieving families, reading at the church or administering Holy Communion to the sick and elderly, she would help whenever she could.
We are so very grateful and thankful for the care and comfort that mom received during her time in hospital. The nurses and staff provided the highest level of care for her and ensured she had everything she needed. Typical of mom, she would often try to help staff and welcome new patients during her stay. She was known affectionately as “Nanny” to many there.
Rest in Peace our dear Mother, and as you would say to us, we now say to you – God Bless You, Mom.
Visitation is from 12 PM to 9 PM on Wednesday December 7, 2022, and 9 AM to 10 AM on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at Fahey’s Funeral Home in Fermeuse.
Mass to be held at at 11 AM on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at St. Charles Borromeo in Fermeuse. Reception to be held following interment at the parish hall in Fermeuse. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the charity of your choice.
