Obituary of Gary Allison Powe
It is with great sadness the family of Gary A. Powe, announces his peaceful passing at his home in Saint John, NB, on November 10, 2022, with his loving family by his side.
Gary was born in Saint John, NB, on June 10, 1950. In 1982, he built a forever home in the Kingston Peninsula with his wife Pauline (Polly), where they raised their two remarkable and outstanding sons, Keith and Scott.
Gary volunteered as a Cub Scout leader for many years. He had a great love and passion for music and attending music festivals with his best friend Bob Curran. He enjoyed photography, being at the beach, and spending time in his man cave.
In his early years, he worked as a tour guide at Martello Tower and later moved on to carpentry and retired from Canada Post after 31 years.
Gary is survived by his wife of 49 years, Pauline (Wright), his two sons; Keith (Cyndi), and Scott (Heather). His grandchildren, who he treasured, Brandon (Brittany), Sarah (Devon), Alex (Mattix), great grandchildren; Wyatt, and Brinley, and brother Brian (Karen), as well as nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his father Gordon, his mother Audrey, and brother Kevin.
The family would like to thank the KV and Saint John Extra Mural, with special thanks to Nurse Pat Chapman, and all the Doctors that cared for Gary. Thank you to Patricia Tracey for being there to comfort Gary and his family.
Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, (849-2119) with visiting on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 from 4 – 7PM. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2022 from All Saint’s Anglican Church, Kingston at 2PM. Interment to take place at All Saint’s Anglican Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Parish of Kingston or to MacDonald Consolidated School MusicProgram.
