Gary’s Obituary
Keiver, Gary Dalton – 80, Wallace, passed away Monday, October 17, 2022, at the Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital, Tatamagouche, with his family by his side. Born September 22, 1942 in Fairview, Halifax County, he was a son of the late Hazen and Verna (Rushton) Keiver. Gary was the oldest of eight siblings. He was an extremely hard worker starting in the woods with his father at the age of 15. Gary also worked at the Canadian Salt Company in the early seventies before moving into the construction industry and eventually working in the oil fields in Fort McMurray, AB. He later moved his family back to Nova Scotia and worked for the Department of Highways, retiring in 2020 at the age of 78. Gary was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a member of Wallace Masonic Lodge # 76 and the Baptist Church. He is survived by his daughter, Nicole Keiver (Tim Boyd), Wallace, sons, Brian Keiver Middleboro, Blair (Roxanne) Keiver, Rothesay, N.B., grandchildren, Nathan, Kelsey, Jaelyn and Drew Keiver; sister, Betty (Gerald) Langille, Wallace, brothers, Terry Keiver, Debert, Derek Keiver, Middleboro; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Keith and Wilma Tattrie, Tattrie Settlement, Darren Patriquin (Terra Keiver), Wentworth and Faye Teed (Brian Keiver), Malagash. Besides his parents he was predeceased by brothers, Barry in infancy and Kenny Keiver, sisters, Diane O’Hara and Wanda Dares. A private service will be held at a later date. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital, Martha Ferguson and Barbie Cook for all their kindness and support during this difficult time.
