LONG, Frances ‘Franny’ (nee Hayton) – Joined her one true love, Sam (2019), in Heaven on the evening of Sunday December 18, 2022, at Millennium Trail Manor at the age of 91. Her legacy is one of pure family love, above all. She touched the lives of so many with her passion for helping others and kindness and anyone who has ever met Franny knows this as truth. Dearly loved mother of Peter Long (Jacquie Allen), Susan Long (Todd Smith), Jeff Long (Jordan Juliani) and Jim (Maria Forte) Long. Cherished grandmother of Sean (Sarah), Selina, Elise, Emma, Mitchell, Kyle, Claire (Curtis), Seth, Jarod, Hannah, Jordan, Derek and Meghan and great-grandmother of Ben, Sophie and Theo-Samuel. Dear sister-in-law of Angelo Long, Bill Yule and Rev. Mervin Tubb. She will be sadly missed by her many friends, especially Gail and Ken Cournoyea. Predeceased by her sister Barbara Tubb, brother Ed (Mary) Hayton, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Nick (Rose) Long, Mary (Domenic) Fiore, Peter (Anne) Long, Frank (Joyce) Long, Anna Long, Margaret Long, Rosemarie Yule. Franny was a Registered Nurse with the Greater Niagara General Hospital and worked in the Obstetrics Department, where she assisted in the delivery of many babies over her career. In her later years, she was a hands-on, devoted volunteer for many charities, such as Niagara Falls Community Outreach and the Out of the Cold Program. She was recognized by the City of Niagara Falls for her outstanding volunteer work. Franny was an avid gardener, who was well known for her gardens and opened them to the Niagara Falls Horticultural Society ‘Garden Walk’. Above all, she will be forever remembered as a truly great, amazing mother and grandmother. She looked at life with eyes of child-like wonder. Everything she did, she made magical – Christmas was certainly no exception. Cremation has taken place. Friends are invited to join the family at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. Niagara Falls, visiting Thursday December 22, 2022 from 9 to 11 am. A Funeral Service in celebration of her life will be held at 11 am at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Fairview Cemetery.
