It is with great sadness that the family of Ewald Wall announce his passing on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at age 87 at Henley House, long-term care home in St. Catharines.
He leaves behind his devoted wife Irma of 64 years, and loving children – Larry, Steven (Leslie), Virginia and Shannon (Mark) Van Tuyl, grandchildren – Devon and Philip, great-grandchild – Jackson and cousin – Gustav (Doris) Zielke.
He was predeceased by his parents – Erich and Maria, and siblings – Reinhold, Emil and Nadia.
Ewald was born on September 18, 1934 in one of several German villages located in Gnadenfeld, Ukraine.
He was an active member of the Lakeshore Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
He retired from General Motors in 1992, after working there for 30 years.
Ewald enjoyed many hobbies, camping, canoeing, flying and escaping part of the winter in Florida.
He loved his faith, he loved his family, he loved people and he loved life.
The family sends special thanks to the staff at Henley House, specifically Centennial Park nurses and PSW’s, for their care and compassion over the last 2 1/2 years.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Passfield Mortuary Services Inc.
A virtual memorial service will be held Sunday, May 11, 2022 @ 2pm on Zoom.
