It is with sadness and precious memories at heart that we announce the peaceful passing of Evelyn on December 19, 2022, in her 96th year. Predeceased by her parents, 11 siblings, her adoptive parents and an adoptive sister, her son Rick and most recently her husband, Fred of 74 years. She leaves behind her children Gary (Carol), Arlene (Len), Alan and Alison. Grandmother of Nancy (J.P.), Alan (Angela), Mark (Amy), Elaine (Shane), Kyle (Lauren) and Karen (Steven). GG to Jaydin, Alanna, Kendra, Aubrey, Alden, William and Owen. She is also survived by a step-sister and 6 in-laws plus many nieces and nephews. Evelyn loved curling at the Dundas Granite Club and golfing here at home and in Florida where she and Fred would vacation for the winter for over 20 years. Evelyn and Fred were instrumental in the formation of St. Mark’s United Church in Dundas and are founding members. Evelyn enjoyed being active on committees and the UCW. Evelyn loved playing cards with her many friends and was in 2 bridge clubs. She had part-time jobs while the kids were growing up doing books for a dental office and demonstrating Kitchen Aid dishwashers. The other times she was able to be at home to raise her 4 children. We, as her children are grateful for that!
Special thanks to Dr. Emili, Amica staff and Karin at Circle of Life for caring for both of our parents.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society in Evelyn’s name would be appreciated.
