Over the years mom was very active in her church belonging to UCW since 1947 and received lifetime membership pin in 1985. Mom taught Sunday school, sang in church choir, CGIT leader and always helped dad with Boy Scout summer camp at George’s lake. Mom always loved to host showers at our home, baby, bridal or any excuse to host a party. She was a former member of Legion and Corner Brook Choral Choir. Until she broke her first hip in 2011 mom loved to swim, go to exercise class, walk on the waterfront and bowl in the seniors league. Mom loved to read, sew and make crafts. Her aprons are known from coast to coast. Mom was a stay at home mom, but when dad retired decided she wanted to work outside the home. She worked for K-mart for 10 years. Mom loved to travel but her heart belonged to Newfoundland. Mom read her Bible and prayed every night. Special thanks to her good friends Shirley and Clyde King who faithfully took mom to church and were great neighbours when mom and Fred lived on Balsam Avenue.
To staff at Mountain View Retirement Home, thank you for your care and compassion, mom loved each and everyone. Special thanks to Palliative Care Unit each and everyone of you are special angels. Your care and compassion to mom and our family made mom’s journey and ours so much easier.
