Obituary for
Emma Joyce Weaver
Weaver, Emma Joyce (Callaghan), 90, Truro, passed away March 25, 2022 in Cedarstone Enhanced Care. We’d like to thank the Cedarstone Staff for taking such good care, and being such friends to Nana, especially when COVID-19 kept our visits so low. Born in Stewiacke on March 10, 1932 to the late Lillian (Crawford) and Jack Callaghan, she was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by husband Bernie; brother Fred (Gloria); sister and brother-in-law Vera and Jack Smith, and granddaughter Aimee. She is survived by her daughter Ellen (John) Butts and granddaughters Kylie (Adam Silva) and Jessica (Darcey) Cameron and great-grandchildren Hunter and Riley. She worked for years at the Metropolitan Store, Swan’s Jewellery and Stanfield’s. With a life-long love of camping, Emma and Bernie were charter members of Hub Campers and Family Campers and RV’ers, and she was an avid bowler – the pins will be flying in heaven tonight! Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 30 from 1pm until time of Memorial Service at 2pm in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro, Rev. Gary MacDougall will be officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Stewiacke East. If so desired, donations may be made to the IWK Children’s Hospital or Brunswick Street United Church. Live Webcasting of the service will begin at 1:58pm (AST) and is available with online condolences at: www.ColchesterCommunity.com
