Bourgeois, Emile Daniel
April 25th, 1946 – June 25th, 2022
Emile Bourgeois, our much-loved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully after a sudden illness surrounded by his wife and their three children. Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Mary Anne (Larade) Bourgeois, brothers Nick, Alphonse, and Simon Joe Bourgeois, and in laws Ambrose and Marion Ryan.
Leaving to mourn with broken hearts his loving wife Ann Marie (Ryan), children Michelle Pye, Daniel (Melissa) and Tara Kennedy (Robert). Grandchildren Alexander and Christopher Pye, Zachary and Nicole Bourgeois and Jennifer Kennedy. Sisters Anna Jack, Bernadette Scarfo (Mike), Teresa Bourgeois, Mary Bourgeois, and Helen (Alec) MacMillian. Brothers Fred (Anna May), Levi (Denise), Simon Peter (Barry), Jerry (Pat), Paul and Joseph. Sister in-laws Carmel (Pat) Hearn, Hilda (Don) Hearn and brother in-law Hilary Ryan. Also leaving to mourn a large extended family and many friends.
Emile was born in Chéticamp, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. He was one of 15 children born into the loving Acadian family of Joseph and Mary Anne. Emile moved to Toronto as a young man and met his wife. They had three children and moved to Mount Pearl, Newfoundland in 1980. Emile saw all his children marry and all his grandchildren born. Poppy was so proud of his grandchildren. He was so looking forward to seeing his grandson Christopher receive his Bachelor of Science in the fall. He saw Zachary enjoy soccer and hockey, Jennifer and Nicole enjoy music and dance. Poppy had a special bond with his grandson Alexander who has autism. Poppy was an advocate, cheerleader, and best buddy for Alex.
Emile loved Mt. Pearl. He was a good friend and neighbor to so many in our community. He loved Tim Hortons, Charlie Pride, good old country and fiddle music, playing guitar and harmonica, the Blue Jays and the Montreal Canadians. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Thank you to Father Wayne Dohey for his support and kindness.
Cremation will take place under the care of Barrett’s Funeral Home. Visitation will take place at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Ave, Mt. Pearl on Thursday June 30th 2-4pm and 7-9pm, Funeral will take place at St. Peters Church, 110 Ashford drive, Mt. Pearl on July 1st at 2pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Mount Pearl Roman Catholic Corporation or to the St. Vincent De Paul St. Peters Church food bank.
