At a younger age, Elmer enjoyed many musical times with family and friends, playing a variety of instruments, the banjo, violin, or mandolin. For a short period of time, he even played in a band with some of his brothers.
Elmer loved to tinker in his garage, fixing anything from small appliances to all types of vehicles and machinery. No task too great for him. If he didn’t have the part to fix it, he would many times just make it himself from scratch.
One of Elmer’s favourite hobbies was metal detecting with Nettie.
He was also a skilled dart player and won numerous tournaments in his dart league. Other favourite activities Elmer had been going fishing and golfing.
Elmer was a fantastic storyteller that grabbed everyone’s attention, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren. He had a great sense of humour that would make you laugh out loud every time!
