Eleanor was a loving homemaker raising her two daughters. She enjoyed babysitting other children in their home and there were many who passed through mom’s care. She had been a member of the Moose Lodge and attended St. Andrew’s United Church. Mom spent time at the Alzheimer Society and the St. Andrew’s Residence Day Out programs. Mom loved to work with her hands whether it was cooking, baking, sewing, craft making, stitchery, redecorating, or gardening. She kept a beautiful home and always had a hot meal ready. Eleanor loved a sense of adventure and enjoyed yearly trips travelling with Jim and family to places across Canada, the United States and many day trips. Pack the egg salad sandwiches and she was ready to go! Nana loved to spend time with her grandchildren with nature walks and teaching them how to knit or crochet. She was adored by her great grandchildren as well.
Special thanks to Riverview Gardens LTC, especially the staff on 5 East and 6 West. Mom received excellent care, they treated her with dignity and said it was a privilege and pleasure to care for her. We recognize and thank her many care givers.
