Ed passed away peacefully with family by his side on October 17th, 2022 after a brief battle with cancer and a promise to his wife to make it to their 58th wedding anniversary.
He was born in Hillcrest, Alberta on April 3rd, 1946. His family moved around a lot and he spent time in Alberta, Vancouver Island, Greater Vancouver and the Okanagan. He worked for the City of Vancouver for 37 years before retiring in 2001 and then moving to Armstrong, BC.
He is survived by his loving wife Eleanor of 58 years, sons Aaron and Darren (Corey), daughter Sheila (Tom), grandsons Brian, Derek (Courtenay), Zachary, Evan, and David and great-grandson Taber as well as sisters Shirley and Phyllis, half siblings Jackie (Frank), Lisa, Ben, and Alanna. He is predeceased by brother Kenneth, his mother Alice Marek and father Clifford Bohmer as well as his sister Shelly Cox (Lee) and recently his brother in law Jim Farrell.
Ed was an eager volunteer to drive the people mover at the Armstrong IPE for many years and looked forward to this event each year. He spent much of his retirement puttering around his garage and later years learning about computers and other hobbies.
The family would like to thank Katy McLachlan, Nurse Practioner, Vernon Jubilee Hospital and the kind staff at North Okanagan Hospice Society for all their support.
He will be missed by many family members and friends especially friends Dieter, George and Josie.
In respecting Ed’s wishes, he will be cremated, and there will be no funeral service.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Edward C Bohmer October 17th 2022..
