Douglas James Parker
1930-2022
It is with great sadness that we announce the
passing of Douglas James Parker, of North Alton, on Friday, August 26,
2022. He was born on March 28, 1930 in Wolfville. Doug was an avid
gardener and loved his many flowers at home and at his cottage, which
he loved going to whenever he could. He was employed with Sobeys for
over 40 years as Grocery manager, mainly in
Windsor.
He is predeceased by his father and mother,
Clyde Lawrence Parker and Julia Jane (Lake) Parker; and
brother-in-law, John Johnson. He is survived by his only sister, Ruby
Johnson; nephew, Kevin (Tracey) and niece, Karen (Mike). He has many
great nieces and nephews, three great-great nieces and one great-great
nephew. He also had two special friends, Barry and Krista Boyd. He
loved his beloved dog, Dutchess and his many cats. Thank you to the
special staff at the Valley Hospice for the wonderful care they gave
Doug.
Cremation has taken place. The funeral service
will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 10, 2022 in the White
Family Funeral Home, Kentville. The Reverend Nicole Uzans officiating.
For those unable to attend, a video webcast of the service will be
available at that time. Interment will take place in St.
John’s Anglican Cemetery, Wolfville. Donations in memory may
be made to Valley Hospice Foundation. Funeral
arrangements have been entrusted to the
