Obituary
October 28, 1931 – December 17, 2022
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, Phyllis Nemes.
Mom is survived by her children Kelly (Jill) and Lisa (Brian) and grandchildren Matthew and Michael.
Predeceased by her husband Philip.
Phyllis was born in Toronto in 1931. She married our father in July of 1957 and they moved to their
house in Oakville in 1959. Upon her retirement as an administrative assistant, Phyllis took to the skies
and travelled to Europe, Hawaii, British Columbia. She especially loved Italy. Sadly, she never took
her coveted trip to Australia. Mom was very active, taking exercise classes, walking each morning
with her friends at Oakville Place, and practicing Tai Chi. In addition, she was on the executive of the
Oakville Osteoporosis Group, helping organize meetings and events. Through these activities, she met
many friends, who will surely miss her.
Mom was well liked in the neighbourhood and will be missed. We would like to send our greatest
appreciation to her neighbours who helped mow lawns, clear snow and generally kept an eye out for
her.
We would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital for their
care and compassion.
As per mom’s wishes, there will be no service. A celebration of life will be arranged at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
