Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Dennis Donald Tienkamp. He passed away peacefully on June 26th, 2022, in Pincher Creek Alberta, at the age of 75.
Dennis was born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan on June 8th, 1947, and grew up in Birch Hills, Saskatchewan on a small farm. He was very hard working and began growing his skills early on. He joined the Navy around 19 years old and began his family. After 3 years in the military, he began working many jobs including: running graters (pig iron), fixing roads throughout Saskatchewan and Alberta, construction/ flipping houses, owning his own cabinet building business, and home insulation. He also worked at Fording Coal in Elkford, British Columbia. Dennis moved to Valleyview to build a new home and farm with his second wife and youngest son. Dennis also worked with forestry in Valleyview area and built up his own business the Tri T Ind. With Hagglunds. Enjoyed woodworking, farming, and Western novels or movies, he had an amazing sense of humor and could bring light to any conversation or room he entered. He was a generous and kind man whose caring and supportive personality was treasured by all who were close to him and will be missed dearly.
Dennis is survived by his children: Charmaine Tienkamp, Warren Tienkamp, Gregory Tienkamp, Michelle Tienkamp. His grandchildren: Braidy Tienkamp, James Tienkamp, Celia Tienkamp, Mason Tienkamp, Jared Tienkamp, Turel Tienkamp, Shaylena Tienkamp. And Great-grandchildren: Jayla Tienkamp, Bowie Tienkamp.
He is predeceased by his youngest son, Darren Mathew Tienkamp, in 2016, and his first wife, Elaine Marie Tienkamp in 2012.
