Denis Joseph Noel Lecuyer 2022

It’s with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Beloved Dad, Grandpa, Brother and Uncle, Denis Joseph Noel Lecuyer, in Winnipeg on December 18th at the age of 63 years.
Denis will be lovingly remembered by his daughters Joanne (Carlos) and Chantel (Mike), grandchildren Taylor and Noah, siblings Diane, Marilyn (Guy-predeceased), Harold (Laura), Cheryl, Sandra (Scott), Roy (Norma-Lei), Lynne (Ron) and goddaughter Randi. Also, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and 2 grand-fur babies.
He was predeceased by his parents Simone and Henry Lecuyer, daughter Nicole, and his best 4 legged buddy Diesel.
Denis was raised in St Eustache, Manitoba, a town he loved. He was well known for being an excellent hockey player and spent a lot of time on the ice in his younger days. Denis spent many years working in construction and worked for the City of Winnipeg. Some of his favourite past-times were hunting, fishing, hockey, baseball and having a cold king can or jug. He had many funny stories to tell about his hunting and fishing trips with his family. Denis loved spending time with his daughters and son in-laws playing pool, watching hockey, fishing, helping with renos and beating them at crib. He loved joking around with his siblings, making them laugh every chance he could. He also really enjoyed his phone calls with goddaughter, Randi. Later in life he worked with his son in-law Mike, always willing to lend a hand. Denis was diagnosed with cancer in 2019 but that never stopped him from doing the things he loved. During his treatments he continued to walk many hours per day visiting friends along the way, and even rode his bike long distances. He named his bike “The Rocket” and said it was so fast that you couldn’t even see him drive by. He was a huge Chicago Blackhawks fan and loved to tease his family about cheering for the Jets. Denis never gave up or complained when faced with obstacles and challenges. He will be greatly missed and will be in our hearts forever.
As per Denis’ wishes, cremation has taken place. Interment will be held on January 7th, 2023 at 1:30 pm at the St.Eustache Cemetery in St Eustache, MB. A celebration of life will follow immediately after at the St Eustache Hall.
In honour of Denis, the family will be wearing Chicago Blackhawks clothing and everyone is welcome to join.
The family would like to send a special thanks to Denis’ Doctors & Nurses at CancerCare Manitoba HSC for taking such great care of him.
