Obituary
Passed peacefully away while surrounded by his loving family and friends, on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at the Health Science Centre, St. John’s, Dean Angus Kielly, of Labrador City, formerly of Gaskiers, St. Mary’s Bay, aged 49 years.
Predeceased by his mother-in-law Bonney, grandparents Sadie & Jack Whelan and Marie & John Kielly, special friends Mervin Dobbin and Glenn St. Croix and all other relatives of the Kielly and Whelan families.
Leaving to mourn, his loving wife and best friend Melanie, sons Thomas and Hunter, parents Angus & Uriel (nee Whelan) Kielly, sisters Ena Gibbons (Wayne and Cameron) and Janice Burton [Paul, Tyler (Kirsten), Zander and Keegan], brothers Mark (Lana, Liam and Luke) and Michael (Lori and Michael), father-in-law John Slaney, sister-in-law Tammy (Stacey, Josh and Isiah), brother-in-law Ryan [Yvette, Nate (Ashley) Aedyn and Kael] and many other aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends, including his IOC family whom we extend our utmost appreciation for your support.
Dean’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Christine Orr, Dr. Ken Burrage, Dr. Brent Tompkins, Dr. Tom Costello, as well as the nursing staff of HSC – 5 South B, for their professionalism and compassion shown to Dean throughout his illness.
Special thanks also to Brad & Trudy Noel and Darcy & Lisa Lowe for their continued love and support and to all our friends and family who have helped in any way during Dean‘s illness – no act of kindness has gone unnoticed.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 11, from 10am – 12pm, at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, St. Mary’s, to be followed by Mass of Christian Burial, at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Daffodil Place.
