Obituary of David Harvey Scott Patterson
It is with profound sadness that the family and friends of David announce his sudden passing while deer hunting with his buddies on Monday, November 21, 2022 in Gore Bay, Ontario. Beloved husband and soulmate of Sharon. Loving father of Melissa Patterson (John Beatty) of Chilliwack, British Columbia, Joshua Schell of London, ON, Justin Schell (Christine) of Sault Ste. Marie and Michael Patterson of Timmins, ON. Proud Papa of Dylan, Trysten, Dallas, Reece and Taner. Beloved son of the late Harvey and the late Beryl Patterson. Son-in-law of the late Edward and Liz Rendell. Brother and brother-in-law to his Webbwood and Oba families. Much loved uncle to his many nieces and nephews. David will be fondly remembered by his many friends and co-workers.
David was born on October 6, 1952 in Blind River, Ontario. He enjoyed the simple pleasure of life and lived life his way. He took pride in helping others and would come at anytime to help no matter the deed. He kept busy with many hobbies over the years and always found a project to work on. He enjoyed socializing and told many tales of his adventures with his colourful stories. Most content while he was outdoors and being part of nature, he loved to hunt moose and deer. He appreciated and loved a good day of fishing on and offshore. He was an avid Toronto Maple Leaf fan and enjoyed coaching and teaching hockey. He will be missed for his thoughtfulness and always being prepared for the next fishing trip or moose hunt.
A celebration of David’s life will be announced at a later date. Memorial donations to the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family. The family would like to thank the Sault Ste. Marie Police and Victim Services crisis workers Sandie and Ethan for their comforting words and support as well as Dr. McRae in Gore Bay. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758).
