14 August 1949 – 18 November 2022, With a heavy heart, we sadly announce the peaceful passing of Colin Francis Hunter, Nov 18, 2022 predeceased by his wife Louise (Reva) of Tahiti, his father John Anthony Hunter (Oct 1987), and mother Catherine Ellen Hunter (nee O’Neill) (Sep 2006) father of Alexandra Hunter of Vancouver Island, and Maiarii (Manava) Hunter of Tahiti, step father to Ehouraun and Tifenn, grandfather of Zoey, Tehauariinui, Matahina Hunter, Brother of Ian (Sylvia), Doreen, Eileen (Wayne), uncle of Justin, Bobby, Spenser, Liam, Bonnie, grand uncle to Gavin, Nora, Benjamin and Madison, Nephew to Bridie Deacon of Scotland and cousin to many across the globe. He will be sadly missed by his many frat brothers, especially his life long best friend and travel buddy Bob Hindle. Born in Glasgow, immigrated to Hamilton, Canada at 2 years old. Raised in Hamilton, travelled the globe for many years, settled in Tahiti for 11 years and returned to Canada. Colin was well known to recount his exotic, unusual and interesting stories of his travels. Our sincere thanks to the staff of the Victoria General Hospital for their affectionate and compassion care over the last few days. A celebration of life to be determined at a later date.
