Obituary
Clifford Samuel Reid
Bras d’Or
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our nephew Cliff on Saturday, November 26, 2022, at the hospice in Sydney, after a brief battle with cancer, surrounded by two of his aunts and his uncle.
Cliff was born in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba, on November 18, 1957. He was the son of the late Samuel and Theresa (Serroul) Reid.
In his later years, he moved with his parents to Greenwood, NS, Summerside, PEI, and eventually to “Downtown Bras d’Or.” Cliff spent most of his summers in Mill Creek, staying with his grandparents, and visiting relatives in Westmount.
Cliff spent time in the navy. He was a bartender and a car salesman, and his most recent job was at the call center when he moved to “Downtown Bras d’Or.”
Cliff loved his family and friends. He enjoyed his evenings at the Blue Mist, always had a story, and loved to make you laugh. Having moved around, he made lots and lots of friends, some lifetime friends, and he loved you all.
Left to mourn are many aunts, uncles and close cousins, and his family at the Blue Mist in “Downtown Bras d’Or.”
Besides his parents, Cliff was predeceased by his only brother Steven, and his grandparents Russell and Josie (Carey) Serroul, and George and Mary Alice (Boudreau) Reid.
There will be no visitation or service, as per his wishes. He will be laid to rest with his family in Westmount at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice Society in Sydney, or a charity of your choice.
A special thank you to Dr. D’Intino and the wonderful, caring staff at the Hospice. Also, a special thank you to his Aunt Jeanette and Aunt Celia for holding his hand throughout this journey. Words of comfort may be forwarded to his family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com
