Cindy Lee Brar October 5 1957 July 11 2022

Cindy Lee Brar was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She left this world suddenly on July 11, 2022.
Born to Jean and Gerald Fullerton on October 5, 1957 in Trail, BC. After graduating high school, Cindy moved to Victoria to attend university and a short two years later met Dave. Her and Dave married in 1983 and together had two children: Kirsten and Paige.
Cindy was an incredibly loving and caring person. She loved to welcome people into her home for meals and games, cards, mahjong, dice and more. You could always find Cindy speed reading a good book and she was a quiet poet and artist. Cindy loved a good adventure, traveling and exploring with Dave and friends. She was an avid golfer and curler, enjoying playing both but she really loved the community aspect of the games. She was always getting involved in tournaments, all the social events, and serving on the various boards and committees.
Cindy was a fabulous student, completing numerous degrees and certificates. She was passionate about all kinds of education and a lifelong learner. Cindy was always looking at what she could learn next, a new skill was never far outside of her reach. She began working at Royal Roads on the project team to establish the University and later served on the board of governors. After 25 years of working at RRU she retired in 2020 but her love of the university kept her coming back and she continued to work at RRU until this June.
She will be greatly missed by the love of her life for over 45 years, Dave, her two daughters, Kirsten (Basit) and Paige (Jamie), her grandchildren, Jameel, Jasir and Quinn, her sisters, Jeri (Ty) and Gail (Lori), her in-laws (Karen, Tom, Nancy and Pinder), her many nieces and nephews, and her friends who she loved like family. Cindy is predeceased by her parents, Jean and Gerald, sister Debbie and brother Russel.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at 2:00 pm, at Royal Roads University in the Gardens, 2005 Sooke Rd, Victoria, BC.
A scholarship will be set up in Cindy’s name and donations can be made towards the award through Royal Roads, www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/m/73932

Dave, Kirsten, Paige and all her family my sincere condolences! I was privileged to meet Cindy when we both went to Camosun College back in 1975 and she immediately became a life long friend. I always had great respect for all the goals that she accomplished and always moving forward with her education. She had the biggest hugs and will miss her every day!

Dave, Kirsten, Paige and family-
Cindy is someone who’s legacy will live on through so many of us at RRU who have worked with, been trained by, or simply had the fortune to cross paths with Cindy. I can think of numerous occasions where her joyful laugh would lift spirits, and change perspectives. Cindy’s gift of time was to short for all that she radiates. My heart goes out to each of you as you pull together as a family to continue to magnify her love for you in your roads ahead. I am and will always be in awe of Cindy’s ability to see the bright side of everything and I can only hope she can help us all do the same as strive to live the life she would have us. From volunteering me to join her on the Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors committee, to travelling together across Canada to recruit students, my days were always lifted when Ci day was around. I feel honoured to have known her and to have been the benefactor of her kindness and organization.
Cindy made RRU her second family, and we sure want to be with you to mourn and celebrate her incredible love and legacy. Thinking of each of you daily and sending you warm hugs of healing at this time.

Dave, Kirsten, Paige along with Fullerton and Brar families:
There are no words to say how deeply sorry we are. We had great visits spending time together at the lake these past weeks. She was such a lovely person and will be missed greatly.
With broken hearts we are making a donation in Cindy’s memory. Will pray for you all on Wednesday.

Cindy – always positive, helpful and hard working – was a key member of the team that had the audacious mission of building RRU quite literally from scratch. Thereafter she remained a trusted friend and valued colleague.
I am deeply saddened by her passing but take consolation knowing how wonderfully she touched so many lives.

The world has lost a kind soul with the biggest smile I have ever seen. Cindy lit up the lives of all who knew her. I will forever remember her laughter and her endless love for her family. She was always supportive and quick to lend a helping hand. So thoughtful! You have my deepest condolences on the loss of your mom. We are all grieving with you. She left us much too soon, but I am grateful for the wonderful memories and the legacy of her beautiful family.
Sending heartfelt prayers for your strength in the coming days.

What a great joy and excitement Cindy brought to all our lives with her passion for golf, enthusiasm for all board and table games, and incredible loving devotion to her family and friends.
Deepest condolences to Dave, Kristen, Paige and all the family. To lose a wife/mother/sister/grandma is always heart-wrenching, and someone as amazing as Cindy makes it a hundred fold harder.

Cindy will be truly missed by everyone who knew her. I count myself fortunate to have been one of her friends and to have had the privilege of hanging out with our families for over 30 years. Bob and I will miss her infectious laughter and the many great get togethers, be it tenting in the rain at For All Seasons or celebrating a baby shower.
Sending our condolences to all of her family. Maureen and Bob

Dave, Kirsten, Paige and family… I am sending you all so much love given this tremendous loss. Cindy was one of a kind and such a force… to say she will be missed is an understatement. The only thing bigger than Cindy’s energy was her love for all of you. That love will live on, as will her legacy through all of you and through the lives she has touched along the way.
Take care,
Angie

Deepest condolences to all of Cindy’s family. Although I haven’t seen her since childhood, my memory of kindness and quietness with a wee bit of shy mixed in, is how I remember Gail’s little sister. Sending love.
