Obituary – Tina McCann
Surrounded by her family, Celina “Tina” (Russell) McCann of Fredericton Junction, New Brunswick passed away peacefully at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 after a brief battle with cancer at the age of 79.
Tina was born on Sept. 22, 1942, in Chatham Head, New Brunswick to Harriet (Vautour) and Joseph Russell. She was predeceased by her husband Cedric McCann, as well as her brothers Eric, Leo, Adelard, Ronald and Donald, sisters Yvonne, Muriel and Margaret, and two infant siblings.
Tina will be fondly remembered by her son Timothy and his wife Beth (Marr) McCann of Fredericton Junction, grandson James Murphy and his partner Mckenzie Butler of Grand-Bay Westfield, and grandson Craig Murphy, his partner Megan Sullivan and great-grandson Hunter of Enfield, Nova Scotia. Tina is also survived by her sisters Elizabeth Russell and Rosemarie Russell of Fredericton Junction, several nieces and nephews as well as extended family.
Tina worked for more than 25 years at Smith’s General Store in Fredericton Junction. She was a longtime member of the Gladstone Curling Club and was part of the congregation of the Saint Columba Catholic Church for many years. Tina enjoyed knitting, sewing, puzzling, and playing bingo, but found the greatest joy in spending time with her family. She never missed a family gathering or milestone celebration.
Relatives and friends are invited to St. Columba Catholic Church for a Funeral Service Friday May 20, 2022 at 2pm with Father Bill Brennan officiating. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, donations to St. Columba Catholic Church Cemetery or the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated by the family. Interment to follow at St. Columba Catholic Church Cemetery.
