Dorey, Caylum James
It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Caylum Dorey on July 30, 2022. Caylum was 18 years when he passed surrounded by the warm love of his family. Caylum is survived by his mother Sylene (Jay), his younger brother Thomas Patrick Zachary, his grandparents Dianne & Richard Corbett, Ann Dorey (the late Jim), and Jim & Barb Hilliard. Dear great grandson of Goldie McSweeney and the late James McSweeney. He is survived by his father James. His stepmother Barb and his stepsister Ava. He will be lovingly remembered by his aunts and uncles, Richard James (Trisha), Aaron (Denby), and Ailish (Blake) Corbett, and John Scarborough (Shelly). Great nephew of Maureen (Rob), HelenAnn (Anthony), Patricia (George), Peter and our exceptionally loving Corbett clan.
Caylum was always ready with a quick joke or remark, and brought light and joy to all those who loved him. Caylum was an umpire at Gage Park and loved to play baseball with his friends and brother Thomas. Caylum found so much joy in sports including many Ti-Cat and Blue Jay games.
We extend our sincerest thanks to the Trillium Foundation, the ICU team at the Juravinski Hospital for the wonderful care and compassion shown to Caylum. We thank the Hamilton Wentworth District Catholic School Board and Wilma’s Place for supporting and guiding with Caylum’s education.
Caylum, today, tomorrow, and our whole life through, we will always love and remember you.
Visitation will be held at P.X. DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 796 Upper Gage Ave., on Wednesday, August 3rd from 3-7pm. Prayers will be said at 3pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, on Thursday, August 4th at 11am. Burial to take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
